Our mission at Colton Comics is to bring joy and inspiration to readers of all ages through the power of storytelling. We believe that comics have the ability to transcend boundaries and bring people together, and are committed to creating diverse content across a variety of genres (historical, fantasy, sci-fi, westerns, superheroes, etc).
We believe comic books are the greatest storytelling medium in existence. We strive to push the boundaries of the medium, try to make great art through telling stories that are innovative, intellectually challenging, and emotionally resonant. We are dedicated to creating comics that will uplift the human spirit, stand the test of time and become modern classics.
Jonathan Colton was born in Yuma, Arizona. Wanting to get his family out of the trailer park, his father joined the US Air Force.
An Air Force brat growing up, Jon lived in the Philippines, Germany, Spain, Utah, Montana, Italy and Idaho. He later moved to San Francisco, California to study at Academy of Art University and has spent most of his life in the Bay Area.
He has worked as a freelance illustrator for Write Brain Books, Leap Frog Toys, and Black Angus Steakhouse.
Jonathan worked as a California Corrections Officer and a Police Forensic and Composite Artist. He worked numerous high profile cases and was awarded a commendation for a case involving a serial kidnapper that was coordinated with the FBI.
After moving to Utah, Jonathan worked as an educator teaching Art at the Junior High level.
Jonathan spends most of his days writing, coaching basketball, drawing, enjoying the outdoors and pursuing the completition of his comics and graphic novels. He lives near Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife, four children and their loveable, energetic dog, Maisey.
